DIY Deodorant - does it really work?

As you might know I have made my own homemade deodorant. But does it keep you underarms dry and stop the stinky smell? I have tested it for about a month now and here's my review.

The main reason I am using the selfmade deodorant is because of chemicals and aluminium in store bought deodorants, I wanted an alternative. Our grandmothers use many homemade remedies for different reasons and most of them work, so why should we buy products which contain harmful ingredients for our body if we can make natural beauty products ourselves?

First of all, the deodorant is super easy to make and it takes just 5 mins if you have all the ingredients at home (which you normally have). Also it smells wonderful, depending on the essential oil your'e adding. But you want to know if it works, right?

The first 2 weeks have been quite different than normally. My body had to get used to the new deodorant and sweat out all bad stuff that has been in my body from my previous deodorants. I am honest, it smelled a little more than ususally. But it was bearable. I think it depends on how much you sweat normally. For a person who doesn't sweat much it won't be such a big difference. Everybody reacts differently, you have to try yourself.

After about 2-3 weeks my body got used to my new deo routine. I apply it every morning and sometimes in between if I feel like I need it. I have noticed that I don't sweat as much as I usually do, my underarms are dryer now. There ar of course some days where I sweat more, depending on my activites and the weather.

All in all the homemade deodorant works very good, of course you sweat more on sunny days and during sports. But I have noticed I don't sweat as much during normal activitites as I used to. It takes a little time for your body to get used to your new deororant, I cannot tell you how long this will take exactly, give it a few weeks. Also the smell is awesome, it smells fresh and makes your day start great! The nice thing is, you can vary the essential oils in the recipe the way you like. I heard using sage helps reduce sewating, but I have not tried it out myself.
