This homemade deodorant is super easy to make and works even better than drugstore bought deodorant. Plus it doesn't contain chemicals or aluminium. Let's get startet:
Ingredients:
Step 1: Melt the coconut oil in a pot or in the microwave
Step 2: Add the baking soda and the salt and mix gently to disolve it.
Step 3: Add a few drops of your favourite essential oil
FINISHED!
For applying take a little amount between your fingers and rub it onto your armpit. The coconut oil will melt and you can easily spread it around. Let it dry for a few minutes before you put on your shirt.
Please note that your body needs a few weeks time to addapt to the new deodorant and you may smell a little more than ususal. After that it works perfectly.
As a person who sweats much I was sceptical about a homemade deodorant for a long time. I tried making my own but didn't try it because I was scared of smelling bad. So it sat there in my cupboard for a few months. After coming back from a long vacation where I saw the consequenses of plastic waste and bad recycling organisation I thought "I have to change something NOW!" Because I want to reduce plastic waste (even though the last deodorant I bought was in a glass bottle) I tried my homemade deodorant I had made a few months earlier and finally tried it for real. At first it was unusual spreading a paste under my armpits. But I felt good and refreshed. I added some drops of lavender oil and it smells fantastic! The first two weeks I smelled a little more than normally and I nearly went back to 'normal' deodorant. But luckliy I didn't because now it works better than any deodorant I have ever bought. It's only been about 2-3 weeks and I feel good and it works perfectly. Its cheaper, more effective and fun to make. You should give it a try!
